A scan is one file upload, one webpage capture, or one camera capture. File scans can be up to the page limit shown for each plan; webpage and camera captures always count as one scan, however long the content is.
Choosing a paid tier opens secure checkout through Stripe; after payment you are signed in to the app. The Free tier takes you straight to sign-in. Free tier requires a Google or Microsoft account to sign in. No credit card required.

The people who need this most should not have to pay for basic access. Every free scan can be up to 25 pages, so if you only need to make a single government form readable each month, you should not be charged. The paid tiers exist for users who hit volume or workflow needs the free tier cannot meet, not to lock the free tier behind a paywall. Signing in uses a Google or Microsoft account; no credit card is required.

Every seat runs an interface that is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, self-evaluated, with Section 508 alignment. Campus adds live FERPA data segmentation for student data; Enterprise detects personal and health identifiers on the device, warns before anything leaves it, and adds audit logging. Campus is sized by enrollment; Enterprise is sized by seat count.

Standard procurement documents are provided free of charge at any time, to anyone, without an NDA and without asking: the HECVAT response, the VPAT accessibility report, the Data Processing Agreement template, the security whitepaper, the sub-processor list, the Data Protection Impact Assessment, the scoped Standard Contractual Clauses, the Transfer Impact Assessment, the European Accessibility Act conformance statement, and the EN 301 549 conformance mapping. They are published at aletheia.lonia.ai rather than sent on request. Custom procurement work is different. Redlined Data Processing Agreements, custom security questionnaires beyond this HECVAT response, and custom Standard Contractual Clause redlines are billed as a Procurement Review Fee, quoted and agreed at contract negotiation. The fee is charged per engagement: additional custom documentation requested after an engagement closes requires a new engagement fee. This is stated here so a procurement team knows the position before asking, rather than after.

The Data Processing Agreement template is published in full and is countersigned per institution at procurement, so there is no waiting list and no availability date to plan around. Is the free tier actually useful?
Yes. 10 scans per month, at up to 25 pages per scan, covers the most common case: a couple of inaccessible government forms, school documents, or medical PDFs each week, described and read entirely on your device. The free tier is permanent, not a trial.
What counts as a scan?
A scan is one file upload, one webpage capture, or one camera capture. A file scan can be up to the page limit shown on your plan. Webpage and camera captures always count as one scan, however long the content is.
What does yearly billing include?
Yearly billing includes one month free compared with paying monthly. You can switch between monthly and yearly with the toggle above to see each price.
How do I pay, and what happens after?
Paid tiers use pay-first checkout. Choosing a paid plan opens secure checkout through Stripe, and after payment you are signed in to the Aletheia app. The Free tier skips checkout and takes you straight to sign-in with Google or Microsoft.
Can I cancel, and do I get a refund?
You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled per our Terms of Service.
What is the difference between the AI tiers?
Free, Student, and Campus use on-device descriptions only. Personal and Family add opt-in Enhanced AI through Lonia-provided cloud, capped at 500 descriptions per month on Personal and 1,000 shared per month on Family. Professional and Enterprise use your own AI key with on-device fallback; they do not include Lonia-paid cloud AI.
