Why Aletheia exists
The Department of Justice pushed the ADA Title II web accessibility compliance deadline from April 2026 to April 2027 for large public entities and April 2028 for smaller ones. HHS did the same for Section 504. Nine states are still in court arguing the 2024 Section 504 rule is unconstitutional. The DOJ Office of Legal Counsel issued a June 2026 opinion narrowing Olmstead and told federal agencies its longstanding integration guidance is not enforceable.
The disability community has waited 36 years since the ADA was signed in 1990. WCAG has been published for over 25 years. 96 percent of websites still fail basic accessibility standards. Aletheia is what waiting no longer requires.
Other accessibility tools ask institutions to fix their content. Aletheia gives users the power to fix it themselves. That is not a workaround. It is a right that no executive order, no interim final rule, and no Office of Legal Counsel opinion can take away.
